Summary:
The Simulation and Technology Education Manager provides operational and personnel oversight and leadership for the Simulation Lab Department in collaboration with the Director of Simulation and Immersive Education. The Simulation Lab Manager leads the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation and technology education programs for systems testing and educational initiatives with the goal of improving quality and operational readiness in the organization. The Manager develops and implements new ideas and strategy to enhance the effectiveness of simulation and technology programs, engages appropriate stakeholders including medical staff and clinical operations' leaders, develops and manages capital and operational budget needs, manages personnel, and measures the impact of simulation and technology education projects on clinical quality.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the Simulation Lab department, in collaboration with the director, providing effective leadership and motivation for members of the Simulation team to ensure appropriate job performance, ongoing professional development and positive role-modeling in interactions with staff. Establish and communicate standards of performance and professionalism. Provide regular performance feedback. Assist each team member with prioritizing responsibilities / activities to meet the needs of the customer using the institution's goals and strategic plan as guides.
* Perform personnel management functions for the Simulation Lab department to include interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, evaluating and terminating employees as delegated by or with the Department Director's approval; serve as mentor or role model to Simulation and Learning Institute staff.
* Supervise the development and delivery of simulation programs that meet staff learning needs. Utilize formal needs assessments, quality data and knowledge of clinical issues to plan simulation activities. Collaborate in the design and delivery of simulation programming that meet identified needs. Evaluate simulation programs for effectiveness and make changes based on the evaluations. Establish consistent documentation processes that meet accreditation requirements.
* Provide oversight and direction to assist professional personnel in the incorporation of simulation into curricula, including development of educational materials, structure of the session, debriefing techniques and practices selection of appropriate equipment, and use of survey instruments.
* Assist the Director in planning future development of the department. Set goals and objectives and create programs to attain them. Assist with the preparation, analysis and evaluation of the operational and capital budgets, strategic plan and strategic marketing plan. Participate in monitoring and controlling the operational and capital budgets within administrative guidelines. Present creative strategies to foster cost benefit and revenue enhancement.
* Demonstrates leadership behaviors and serves as a change agent assisting operational leaders in understanding the importance, impact, and process of simulation programming.
* Maintain proficiency in existing and emerging technologies, including basic theory, design, and implementation, by maintaining a literature base, attending educational events, evaluating new equipment and materials, and participating in educational opportunities.

WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 5 years Simulation experience required
* Healthcare simulation experience preferred
EDUCATION
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Certification in healthcare simulation preferred
