Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Department

Work location: Texas Health Cleburne, 201 Walls Dr. Cleburne, TX 76033

Work hours: Full Time Nights (7P-7A) for 36 hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Department Highlights

  • Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth
  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
  • Medical Surgical Department (34 bed) provides quality care to the medical/post surgical patient. Patients are admitted to this 34 bed unit for General Medical surgeries such as appendectomy’s, bowel, knees, hips, joint replacement, gastro and urology surgeries as well as general medical conditions and illnesses.

Here’s What You Need

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care required
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • One (1) year of RN experience in Med/surg strongly preferred
  • Charge nurse/preceptor experience preferred.

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
