Registered Nurse (RN) PRN III Nights – NICU for Texas Health Alliance

Work location: Texas Health Alliance, 10864 Texas Health Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76244

Work hours: PRN Level III/per diem, Night Shift 7p – 7a; minimum requirement: 6 shifts per 6 weeks schedule, 2 weekend shifts per 6 weeks and 1 major and 2 minor holiday shifts a year

NICU Unit Department Highlights

  • 8-bed Neonatal ICU unit – Level III
  • 25-weeks’ gestation on up – utilizing CPAP, Bubble CPAP, Vents, and Jets
  • May Float to assist with Mother/baby Unit
  • Part of the Texas 10-Step Program

Here’s What You Need

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire
  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually within 90 Days of hire
  • 1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • 2-3 years of level III NICU experience strongly preferred

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
