Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Med Surg

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth

Work hours: Full Time Nights (6:15 PM – 7:45 AM) for 24 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Here’s What You Need

  • Other Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program Required
  • 6 Months in an acute care hospital setting or completion of THR residency program Required
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Required And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 Days Required And
  • NIHSS - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification maintained every 2 years 90 Days Required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborates with healthcare team to support hourly rounding, patient education, and risk reduction.
  • Administers medications safely and performs technical procedures proficiently.
  • Collects and reports patient data to RN, contributing to individualized care planning.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and adheres to national safety standards.
  • Maintains professional accountability through goal setting, advocacy, and policy compliance.
  • Partners with peers and support staff to enhance clinical competence and adapt to changing needs.
  • Engages in continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and applying evidence-based practices.
